Our Story

The Helping Hands Orphanage is located in Barahona, Dominican Republic. Our journey began with Pastor Pedro shortly after the devastating earthquake in Haiti, which sent thousands of people fleeing across the border into the DR.

Among those seeking refuge were countless orphaned children. While many girls were taken in by various groups, young boys were tragically left on the streets to fend for themselves. Pastor Pedro saw this desperate need and stepped in to change their story.

A Safe Place to Grow

Today, Helping Hands provides a safe, nurturing, and loving home for these boys to grow up. Beyond just shelter, we ensure they receive a quality education, nutritious food, clothing, essential medical care, and most importantly, a community that loves them.

Our goal is to set them up for lifelong success, and we are incredibly proud that many of our children are now planning to attend college after they leave our care.
